What should I bring for my child?
You don’t actually need to bring anything. In fact, it is better to not bring toys from home so they don’t have to be shared or risk getting lost. Please do not send your child with a snack. We strive to keep our classrooms safe from allergens. However, if your baby needs a bottle or pacifier or a specific toy for comfort, please alert the teacher at drop off. We want to take good care of your child.
What happens during class?
You’ll notice at drop-off that kids are playing. We do that intentionally to make entry easy and to encourage relationships with peers. In every classroom, every week, we teach a bible-based lesson. The lessons include: - worship - a bible story presented via video - discussion with peers - activities/crafts - a focus on a specific mission - prayer The lessons are age-appropriate and thus, vary in length and complexity. The younger children have more time for free play. Children will typically bring home a lesson page. This is primarily so you have a summary of the lesson. There will often be worksheet type activities on this sheet that have not been completed. That’s intentional. We’d rather spend our short amount of time in active engagement
What if my child has unique or special needs?
We really are committed to being a place where all children feel welcome, loved and successful, but we don’t always know every child’s specific needs. So, if you anticipate some challenges/needs for your child, please let us know so we can be proactively prepared. Please use the “questions” button above to email the director.
