The Youth Pastor at LIFEchurch is a critical leadership role responsible for leading middle and high school students to follow Jesus and become disciples.

We are looking for a strategic builder who will prioritize recruiting, developing, and empowering a team of adult Serve Team members who will directly disciple students, rather than trying to perform all the ministry themselves.

Ultimately, you will partner closely with parents and the broader NextGen team to create a connected, discipleship-driven pathway from nursery through graduation.

About the Position

Ultimately, you will partner closely with parents and the broader NextGen team to create a connected, discipleship-driven pathway from nursery through graduation.

Position Overview

  • You will develop and help lead engaging weekly large group worship experiences and

  • Small Groups that guide middle and high school students into deeper discipleship.

  • Your emphasis will be placed on small groups and discipleship vs. larger “hyped” events – substance over show

  • You will actively recruit, equip, and train a dedicated team of adult Serve Team

  • Members to help connect students to Jesus and to life-giving personal relationships

  • You will plan, schedule, and coordinate dynamic events, including mission trips, summer camps, and regular social gatherings.

  • You will administer the annual budget for your ministry area.

  • You will assist with church-wide pastoral staff responsibilities and serve as a member of the Coralville Campus staff team.

  • You will build foundational structures and systems to support ministry growth

  • You will build strategic partnerships with parents, equipping and supporting them as they lead their students’ spiritual development at home.

  • You will develop meaningful connections within local schools, partnering with coaches and administration in ways to help reach students on their own campuses with the good news of Jesus

Education & Experience

  • A degree (preferred) from a Christian College or University. Candidate must have biblical training and be theologically astute and able to be comfortable in a geographic location which highly values education.

  • Credentialed with the Assemblies of God or committed to pursue the same.

  • Experience preferred

Technology

  • Comfortable with texting, email, major social media platforms, and AI

  • Competent in use of Google Workspace applications (Gmail, Google Docs, Drive, Calendar, and Meet)

  • Possess the capacity to learn and master Planning Center Online – our Church

  • Management Software
